Set in a retro 1997 homebrew scene, this PICO-8 edition reimagines the LX-II arcade original with fresh graphics, original music, and refined quality-of-life tweaks. The premise is straightforward: descend through increasingly dangerous waves, eliminate enemies, and collect rewards to upgrade your arsenal. The real challenge lies in knowing when to push forward and when to play it safe.
This version expands on the foundation with 16 upgradable abilities, four difficulty tiers including a punishing nightmare mode, and a risk-reward gambling system that turns every run into a calculated gamble. Seven distinct enemy types keep encounters unpredictable, while strategic bomb usage and directional shooting add layers of depth to the frantic action.
